Over the last few months, a serious security problem concerning entrance doors, has come to light.

Most homeowners have installed what they believe to be high specification security doors to their homes. Most homeowners bought their doors when they fitted replacement windows. They were quite rightly impressed with the Security Features the doors offered.

These features include "Shoot Bolts", and "Claw Locks" as well as other features including 5 or 7 point multi locks.

The problem is that all these features are controlled by the lock cylinder which is known as the Euro Profile Cylinder. The Euro Cylinder is fitted to over 95% of UPVC Doors (including French Doors) and it is also fitted to new style fibreglass and composite doors. IT IS LIKELY TO BE FITTED TO YOUR DOOR!!!

DESIGN FAULT

Potential burglars and other undesirables can break the lock and gain access to the security mechanisms in seconds. Thus, entry can be gained to your home quickly and silently.

Regardless of how many "Shoot Bolts" ,"Claw Bolts" the door has fitted, they all become totally redundant as when the lock is attacked, the mechanisms can be manipulated manually!!!

BRITISH STANDARD AMENDED

The Replacement Window industry and other affected businesses are aware of this security problem and have been looking for ways to combat this problem.

The BRITISH STANDARD for entrance doors has recently been amended to include a test on the Euro Cylinder. The BSI recognise this serious problem. The British Standard is known as Pas 024.

Local Crime Prevention Officers are well aware of the problem with Euro Cylinder attack and are encouraging companies to find a solution. A very large proportion of break ins occur through the door.

THE SOLUTION

"The Mole" protects your home because it prevents cylinder attack. It includes two unique features designed to stop unwanted tampering with the cylinder.

"The Mole Security Handle" has been tested to the new , amended test British Standard PAS 024 Clause A11. It is available in two finishes. "High Gloss Silver" or "Gleaming Gold".

Police forces across the country operate a security approval scheme in conjunction with manufacturers, installers and the British Standards Institute. Products are subjected to stringent tests before approval is given.
